High Country Hooch Distillery, operated by Paul and Leanne Poulter, craft bold, small-batch spirits infused with flavours of the High Country.

Paul and Leanne Poulter believe that every great day should end the same way – gathered around a campfire with good mates, a full belly and a cup of fine Hooch in hand.

This philosophy is at the heart of High Country Hooch Distillery, where they craft bold, small-batch spirits infused with the flavours of the High Country.

Their signature range features six unique creations, each telling a story of the land and their adventures.

Bulldust Spiced Hooch

delivers a warm, aromatic kick, while Lemon Myrtle Vodka offers a crisp, citrusy twist.

Black Sheep Premium Hooch is smooth and rich, capturing the essence of a true classic.

Nut Job Hazelnut Hooch brings a decadent, nutty profile, and Appleshine delivers a refreshing taste of orchard-fresh apples.

For those with a sweet tooth, Honey Vanilla Bean Vodka blends silky vanilla with pure local honey for a smooth, luxurious finish.

Having traveled across Australia, Paul and Leanne have always been drawn back to the High Country.

In 2021, they made it official, settling in Glenaladale on their picturesque 123-acre property, Squatters Run.

Nestled at the foothills of the High Country, their land inspires the bold, natural flavours in every bottle.

Beyond distilling, their lives are deeply intertwined with the land.

They raise Black Angus cattle and Aussie White sheep, all while working to restore their farm to its former glory. Conservation is a key focus, with 25 acres fenced off to protect the creek that meanders through their property, preserving the old-growth forest and native wildlife.

High Country Hooch isn’t just about spirits – it’s about storytelling, adventure and honouring the beauty of East Gippsland.

Whether you’re reminiscing by a campfire or toasting to new memories, Paul and Leanne invite you to experience the true taste of the High Country in every drop.

Visit their stall for free tastings and discover your favourite Hooch firsthand.
