Marlo Angling Club held another successful social fishing competition last weekend, and while the turnout was on the smaller side, the fishing action, particularly for one young angler, was anything but quiet.
Cooper made a clean sweep of the competition, dominating all three categories with an impressive trio of catches which included a 37 centimetre bream, a hefty 48 centimetre salmon and a neat 29 centimetre whiting.
His skill and keen eye for the water certainly didn’t go unnoticed, with fellow anglers praising his performance and likely planning their strategy to keep up next round.
Adding to the fun, Paul Faulkner snagged the mystery prize, giving everyone a reminder that sometimes it pays to cast a line and take a chance.
The only downside was the surprisingly small number of anglers who turned out, especially given the stunning weather conditions.
But spirits remained high, and the friendly competition kept the vibe buzzing.
Marlo Angling Club encourages members to keep logging their catches and to take up the challenge to knock Cooper off next time.
Stay tuned and stay sharp, those fish won’t catch themselves.
