LINDENOW
2024 position: Last (one win).
Coaching panel: Brett Waddell (senior coach), Dale Thomas (reserves coach) and Pat Alexander (reserves coach).
Vibe check: Have had a huge build up with plenty of miles in the legs before Christmas, are fit and raring to go with a couple of weeks still up their sleeve.
Ins: Tom O’Leary (Rostrevor Old Collegians), Baxter Evans, Damon Bradby, Timothy Todd (all Watsonia), Albert Wright, Norm Barry (Lang Lang), Jack Mitchell (Swifts Creek) and Xavier Cook (Bairnsdale).
Outs: Richard Harrison (Bruthen), Simon Jago (Woodside), Blake Bartlett (Lindenow South), Hugh McShane (Hutchins), Jeffrey Walker junior and Stevie Hood (both Panton Hill).
Game style: Will be looking to get the ball from stoppage kings Justin Gould and David Donchi into those of runners who can set up quick transition and penetration into the forward arc, so players like Peter Harrison can go to work.
Players to watch: Looking for ex-Watsonia players Baxter Evans, Damon Bradby and Timothy Todd to make an instant impression.
Wildcard: Cooper Shaw, if fit, could be anything.
Expectations: Have recruited strongly and are looking to move from the bottom of ladder into finals contention.
Analysis: Will certainly be better than last season and if they can maintain their top 18 players on the park throughout the season are capable of pulling off some big wins and pushing for an all important finals berth. It’s an improving competition, so they will need to make some big inroads.
