Orbost Snowy Rovers’ “A” grade side scored its second win of the season last Saturday at home against Lindenow.
The Blues were keen to bounce back and consolidate their place in the top four after a disappointing loss to Wy Yung last week and that’s what they did in style.
Orbost currently sit third on the ladder, within striking distance after its 47-38 win over a gallant Lindenow outfit.
Jorja Savoury and Hayley Boxall were both standouts for the Blues.
The Cats were too good in “B” grade winning 47-38, opening up an early advantage which the Blues weren’t able to chip away.
Tamara Heyne, Kayla Shanahan and under 17 player Makayla Edlington were all in good form for Orbost, who look like a side that will continue to improve each week and peak at the right time of the year.
It was another easy win for the Cats in “C” grade, running out convincing 13-goal victors, with junior player, Holly Hanratty among the best for Orbost with the consistent
Laura Poole.
It was a similar result in “D” grade with Lindenow prevailing by 18 goals over an Orbost side that were solid for four quarters but lacked the firepower of the Cats.
Megan Sage, Caitlin Schafer and Remmi MacDonell, who backed up for the under 17s led the way.
It was a good result for the home side in the under 17s, moving to second place on the ladder off the back of a resounding 12-goal win over a Cats side that never conceded the match and kept trying against the odds.
Edlington, MacDonnell and Jorja Vos all had great games in a performance by the girls.
The Blues moved to third place on the ladder, courtesy of their 26-goal win in the under 15s, with Hanratty leading the way with a best on
court performance.
Lindenow scored its first win of the season in the under 13s, denying the Blues it’s second victory, the Cats home in a tight match by six goals.
The Blues make the trek down highway one this week to Stratford, where the Swans are always a formidable foe.
