Thursday’s social bowls session at the Orbost Bowling Club was played in sunny conditions with a slightly chilly breeze.
The format for the day was three bowl pairs, with only one pair managing to win both of their games, the winning combination of Greg Rankin (skip) and Jenny Gurney.
Sunday saw a very good roll up of bowlers to enjoy the perfect bowling weather, with two bowl triples the order for the day and again there was only one team that won both their games, Ross O’Brien (skip), Maurice Frank and Rob Black declared the winners.
The next social bowls afternoon will be on Thursday (June 5), anyone is welcome to attend, whether they are beginners or experienced bowlers, you just need to be at the club by 12.30pm.
DRILLS AND SKILLS
The Drills and Skills session was held last Saturday
morning, with a much better turn out.
Drills and Skills is held every Saturday from 10am for
just over an hour, weather permitting, under the tutelage of Ron Hatcher .
He explains various techniques that can improve a bowler’s game, then puts the attendees through exercises where they can incorporate the new techniques into their game, assisting the individual bowlers as required.
Everyone is welcome, regardless of their level
of expertise.
