Launched the kayak at Marlo and it wasn’t long before the estuary perch were on, the main town jetty was firing, as was upstream in the timber.
Bright 95 millimetre shallow and mid-diving lures did the trick and it was great to see bream cruising all through the system.
Moved on to Orbost, the estuaries were full of life, with mullet and luderick on the chew.
Sandworms and prawns were the fish magnets, whilst the reports from offshore were also positive with gummy sharks and flathead loving bluebait and squid.
The Bemm River also didn’t disappoint, with bream all over local prawns.
The surf beach was alive with salmon smashing metal lures, the incoming tide making all the difference and with the entrance open, water movement is perfect, with better fishing all around.
