As part of the East Gippsland Winter Festival this year, the Save the Snowy Rail Bridge group is celebrating the completion of Stage 1 of the bridge with a twilight cocktail event on Friday, July 18 out on the western end of the bridge, the adjacent Under Bridge Walk and nearby Snowy Floodplain Lookout.
They will be creating a fantastic mood with candles, fairy lights and feature lighting on the timber trestles, hot toddy-style drinks to keep your insides warm and fire pits to keep the outside warm. Delicious finger food from local cafes and some brilliant live music from some local musicians (where you can look down on the stage area from the bridge itself).
With limited parking available, tickets include transport out to the bridge and back from Orbost.
Funds raised from the event will support the ongoing work of Save the Snowy Rail Bridge Association to preserve and restore the much loved bridge.
You can get your tickets to the unique event through the East Gippsland Winter Festival website.
