In recognition of Reconciliation Week, Marlo Primary School held an exhibition of student work at the Orbost Arts Centre.
Working with Lynette Solomon-Dent, the school’s Koorie Education Support Officer, students created three pieces of work highlighting their connection to Country, as well as the local creation story, as told by Lynette.
With a focus on belonging, students described what belonging means to them using art work, poetry and sculpture.
The school invited families and the community to come and view the exhibition
with the students, with more than 100 members of the school community attending over the two days of the exhibition.
The pieces displayed showcase the amazing work students have done as part of the Indigital Program, an ongoing partnership which has seen outstanding dedication to fostering meaningful connections between Country, First Nations and communities.
