Operation Christmas Child is a project organised every year by “Samaritans purse”, an international aid organisation giving aid to many countries impacted by war, natural disasters and other upheavals.
You can be part of this great project sending love and hope to children in vulnerable places by filling a shoebox with new items such as school supplies, clothes, a toy or doll and hygiene products (please do not include soap or toothpaste).
The empty boxes are available at the Snowy River Mail office or from local coordinator Vivenne (contact details available at the Snowy River Mail office).
Last year through Operation Christmas Child more than 210,000 boxes were delivered to children in Cambodia, the Philippines, Soloman islands, Fiji and Ukraine.
This is a great opportunity to bless these children and let them know they are not forgotten.
You can fill the boxes yourself or as a family, school or community group, sporting club or you can give a donation to help delivery costs which have increased to $12.50 per box.
However you choose to help, your gift will be appreciated and treasure.
The collection date this year is early October, so there is plenty of time to gather special things to fill the boxes.
