There are still some reports of nice catches in the region if you’re game to brave the cold mornings.
Marlo: Estuary perch are being caught around the jetties with the main town jetty fishing well.
Bright 95 millimetre shallow and mid-diving lures are effective.
Kayakers heading upstream into timbered sections are also landing quality perch. Bream are active throughout the system.
Orbost: Mullet and luderick are on the chew this week with sandworm and prawn proving irresistible in the estuaries.
Offshore action is heating up too with gummy shark and flathead taking a liking to bluebait and squid.
Bemm River: Bream are active throughout the lake with local prawns proving to be the standout bait.
On the surf beach salmon are taking well to metal lures, particularly during the incoming tide. The entrance is open, providing excellent water movement and improved fishing conditions across the system.
Mallacoota: Bream, flathead and mulloway are around, chasing hard-bodied lures.
