The weather again interfered with Thursday’s social bowls, with the afternoon having to be cancelled due to the heavy rain, however, Sunday’s weather was the complete opposite, proving perfect for bowling.
As usual, the Sunday afternoon was well attended and it was particularly pleasing to welcome two new members, Hayden Lancaster and Annette Grmusa to the club.
Gippsland Bowls Region “Male Bowler of the Year”, Brad Lancaster was also welcomed back as a visitor for the afternoon.
The format for the day was two games of 10 ends, with only one team managing to win both their games.
The winning team comprised of Geoff Lynn, Hayden Lancaster, Gwen Hatcher and Trevor Perry, with Lynn skipping the first game and Hayden Lancaster the second.
The next social bowls afternoon (weather permitting) will be on Thursday, with bowlers to be at the club no later than 12.30pm.
DRILLS & SKILLS
Last Saturday’s Drills and Skills session was another successful session with Ron Hatcher putting the attendees through their paces, revising all the skills he had been teaching over the past couple of months. The definite improvement showing in the bowlers techniques is a good sign for the upcoming pennant season.
Drills and Skills is held every Saturday morning from 10am to approximately 11am, with everyone welcome.
