After a mid season slump, Orbost Snowy Rovers’ East Gippsland Football Netball League reserves campaign is back on track, making it back-to-back victories after defeating Stratford in round 11 at Lochiel Park last Saturday by 34 points.
The fourth-placed Blues lost five games in succession, prior to annihilating Paynesville last week, but a surprise victory over the second-ranked Swans has coach, Andrew Kenny and his team looking forward to the remainder of the season with a sense of excitement.
Orbost opened up a handy seven-point advantage by the first change, letting the confident Swans know they had come to play.
But with Kenny (three goals) providing a target up forward, the Blues kicked six
goals to two in the final three quarters to run out easy winners.
The undermanned Swans having no answers, as Cody Robertson, Kayden Harrison, Hugh Barnes, Lachlan Osborn, Noah Szabatura and Shaun Waddell all ran rampant for the delighted Blues.
All clubs in the EGFNL will enjoy a much appreciated week of this week, with the Blues next match against Lindenow at the Lindenow Recreation Reserve on July 19.
