The weather allowed two afternoons of social bowls last week at the Orbost Bowling Club.
Thursday’s weather was cool with an occasionally stiff breeze, while Sunday was warm, sunny and perfect for bowling.
Thursday’s playing format was three games of two-bowl pairs, with the winning combination for the day being Beryl Dyce (skip) and Greg Rankin.
Sunday saw two games of three-bowl triples with only one of team winning both their games with Dyce again among the winners as the skip.
She was ably assisted by Kerry Thomas and Maurice Frank.
Social bowls sessions will again be held on Thursday and Sunday this week.
DRILLS AND SKILLS
Unfortunately after two and half months of perfect, although sometimes cold weather, the rain finally caught up with the Saturday morning Drills and Skill session.
Although a few hardy souls turned up, the practice session had to be called off after 15 minutes due to heavy drizzle.
The next Drills and Skills will be this Saturday, weather permitting, at 10am.
