The 2025 Vicbream Classic at Marlo last weekend didn’t disappoint, with some outstanding catches produced by anglers with their fingers on the pulse.
After a hectic Saturday session that saw the top 10 all with an impressive five kilograms or more, Sunday saw movement everywhere on the leader board.
Josh Jeffrey and Connor Jackson managed to charge home from seventh overnight to take victory, with a 10 bream bag of 11.065 kilograms.
In second place was Dan Mackrell and Declan Betts (10.575 kilograms), marginally ahead of the third-placed, Stephen Emerson and Damien Dwyer (10.345 kilograms).
Not surprising, Jeffrey and Jackson’s Sunday bag of 5.905 kilograms was the best of the tournament, with the biggest bream winner, Brad and Harry Young who weighed in a thumping old black bream weighing 1.755 kilograms.
The Junior Angler Prize went to Cooper Hodges who finished in fifth place, while the best other species was won by Peter Howell and Mike Newman who weighed in a quality perch weighing 1.20 kilograms.
The event attracted a huge field of 104 anglers, which made for a great weekend in Marlo.
