Orbost Fire Brigade’s Laura Tidey completed the 12th Annual Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb virtually from August 6 – September 6.
She completed her final day on Saturday with Captain Dick Johnstone and fellow firefighter Alana Farley, who all donned 25kg of firefighting gear to complete the challenge.
It was Laura’s second time participating in the fundraising event, climbing more than 3200 steps to represent the number of lives lost to suicide in 2022.
Over the month she raised $1230 for Peter MacCallum cancer foundation, 000Foundation and Lifeline.
In total, this year’s Melbourne Stair Climb has raised more than $1 million, while the virtual stair climbers have taken more than 470,000 steps towards crisis support and cancer research.
