The Orbost Arts Centre is set to become a hub for local music lovers with the launch of a new monthly series dedicated to showcasing talented regional singer-songwriters.
Held on the third Sunday of every month, the sessions aim to celebrate and support the vibrant original music scene in East Gippsland.
Thanks to funding from Creative Victoria’s 10,000 Gigs Program, the series will provide a regular platform for local artists who write and perform their own material.
The initiative offers the community a fantastic opportunity to discover homegrown talent and experience live, heartfelt music in an intimate setting.
The next event is scheduled for this Sunday, September 21, and promises an afternoon of brilliant performances. The lineup features two acclaimed singer-songwriters: Elfie Schieran, who will perform songs from her new album released earlier this year, and Michael Marmo, sharing tracks from his own recently launched album.
They will be supported by local favourites, the Snowy Jammers.
Doors open at 2.30pm, with music starting at 3pm and running until 6pm.
A gold coin donation is requested for entry, and a bar with snacks will be available for attendees to enjoy.
The Orbost Arts Centre encourages everyone to come along, be inspired, and support the incredible musical talent within the region.
To stay updated on who is performing each month, the community can look for posters around town or visit the Orbost Arts Centre.
