Applications are now open for East Gippsland Water’s annual summer Vacation Employment Program.
Running from December to February, the program is offered to eligible university students pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
According to Lauren Kyle, Manager People and Capability at East Gippsland Water, participants in the program get to delve into real-world projects that “bridge the gap between academic theory and practical application within the water industry”.
“Last year we placed eight tertiary students in roles over the summer holidays – providing our teams with valuable support and ideas, while giving the undergraduate students real hands-on knowledge, experience and opportunities to make a meaningful impact by working on real-world projects,” Ms Kyle said.
“Essentially, participating uni students will get paid, learn heaps, and boost their resume at the same time.
“Whether you’re studying a bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, commerce, HR, marketing, accounting or IT,
this is a chance to make a meaningful impact in the vital and multi-faceted water industry.”
Ms Kyle explained that priority consideration is extended to students from the East Gippsland region.
But you’ll have to move fast, because applications close September 30 2025.
