Isuzu D-MAX – where toughness meets tech

14 October 2025
in Local News

Isuzu has unveiled the next generation of its highly capable D-MAX ute, blending over a century of specialist engineering with cutting-edge technology and a suite of advanced safety features tailored for the demands of Australian drivers.

Billed as the “next generation of tough,” the new D-MAX is designed to be as eye-catching in the city as it is capable off-road.

It promises an unmatched combination of performance, comfort and robust durability, whether on the worksite, on a family adventure, or tackling rugged terrain.

At the heart of the D-MAX is Isuzu’s proven 3.0L turbo-diesel engine, delivering a formidable 140kW of power and

450Nm of torque.

This provides the muscle for a formidable 3.5-tonne braked towing capacity, ensuring it can handle heavy loads with confidence.

Designed to conquer Australia’s toughest landscapes, the D-MAX boasts a suite of serious off-road features.

This includes a standard Rear Differential Lock, an impressive 800mm wading depth, and advanced aids like 4×4 Terrain Mode, Hill Start Assist, and Hill Descent Control, all protected by extensive underbody armour.

Inside the cabin, the D-MAX offers a refined and connected experience.

Every model features a large, high-definition central touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard.

A seven inch smart digital display in the instrument cluster provides the driver with key information, while intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control and automatic headlights and wipers make driving easier and safer.

The range-topping X-TERRAIN model adds further luxuries, including an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

Safety is paramount in the new model, which features Isuzu’s comprehensive Intelligent Driver Assistance System (IDAS).

Using a state-of-the-art stereo camera and sensors, IDAS constantly monitors the surrounding environment for potential dangers, providing both active and passive safety measures.

This advanced technology is supported by a robust suite of physical safety features.

Every D-MAX comes standard with eight airbags, a stronger chassis, and a reinforced cabin safety cell for ultimate protection.

This comprehensive approach has earned the D-MAX a maximum five-star ANCAP safety rating, putting driver and passenger safety first.

Truly embodying the brand’s philosophy to “go your own way”, the new Isuzu D-MAX is engineered to deliver durability,

capability and refinement for today and every day after.
