Only 10 shooters braved conditions at the Buchan Precision Rifle Club for their October NRL22 Course of Fire.
Organisers are not sure if it was the wind, the heat, or the massive catches by the top three that scared the opposition away.
The ‘Course of Fire’ looked simple enough on paper, but Buchan decided to throw in a surprise guest appearance (the wind), with shooting straight getting tricky when the breeze had other plans.
Despite the challenging conditions, the top three held their ground, with Matt Cunningham a clear winner, only dropping one round all day.
Runner-up was Shannon Hederman, who shot her best score yet, with Ben Gebert rounding out the top three, proving that even with minimal practice and a busy schedule, he’s still got it.
The next match will be on Saturday, November 8.
