A healthy field of 47 players enjoyed Orbost Golf Club annual RUOK Day last Saturday.
With all proceeds, raffles and auction takings going to the Orbost Men’s Shed, it was a superb way to steer the fierceness of an 18-hole golf competition to the benefit of men’s health and the ever-present needs of the local community.
It was positive to see the wonderful facilities at Orbost Golf put to support players of all abilities and ages on the day.
Players were able to come together in teams to enjoy a low risk – high reward afternoon of golf.
At the end of the day results were tight. The winning three teams could only be decided by countback.
Organisers congratulated all players for their participation and thanked the Orbost Golf Club team of voluntary workers for their excellent presentation of the fairways, greens, bunkers and rough.
Swinging into spring at golf is looking forward to the next major event being Orbost Club Hotel Weekend of Golf to be held on November 1 and 2.
A wide range of events and prizes will be highlighted by a $1000 hole in one comp throughout the weekend.
