Go Get It Gippy is your free, 12-month community health program designed to help East Gippslanders move more, eat better, and feel amazing — one small change at a time.
This month’s challenge is all about eating
more plants!
Your goal: Aim for two serves of fruit and three cups of veggies each day.
If you’re already nailing that, level up by aiming for 40 different plant foods a week — that includes fruit, veggies, nuts, seeds, wholegrains, legumes, and lentils.
Why does this matter?
A colourful, plant-rich diet feeds your gut, supports your weight, strengthens bones, boosts skin and hair health, and keeps every system in your body humming.
The more variety, the
better your gut bugs — and the better you feel.
Here are some easy
ways to hit your target:
– Add fruit or veggies to every meal — even breakfast
– Snack smart with fruit, veggie sticks, or a handful of nuts
– Hide veggies in sauces, soups, and
mince dishes.
– Add salads or roasted veggies alongside
your pasta or rice
– Try a seasonal veggie box and let it inspire your meals
– Roast a big batch of veggies and mix them into meals all week.
– Prep fruit and veggie snacks ahead so they’re easy to grab and go.
Small tweaks add up quickly — and before you know it, you’ll be feeling lighter, brighter, and more energised.
