If you’re new here, Go Get It Gippy is all about small, practical changes that make a BIG difference to your health and wellbeing.
Each month we focus on a fresh topic, giving you tips you can actually use in real life — no fad diets, no overcomplicated rules, just simple strategies that work.
This month, we’re taking a journey from the mouth down – improving digestion from the very first bite to, well… the end result.
We’re going to chew better, eat better, digest better, and yes, poop better.
Here’s how:
1. Chew more – Aim for 20 chews per bite. Your mouth is the only place where food is mechanically broken down. The better you chew, the more nutrients your body can absorb.
2. Slow down your meals – Take at least 20 minutes per meal. Eating slowly gives your body the time it needs to digest, and naturally encourages better chewing.
3. Acid support – A splash of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice with your meal can help boost stomach acid, which is essential for proper digestion.
4. Sit tight after eating – Give yourself at least four minutes before leaving the table. This small pause helps your digestive system get going properly.
5. No devices while eating – Phones, TVs, and tablets distract you and encourage faster eating. Focus on your food, enjoy your meal, and let your body do its job.
Small tweaks, big impact. Start practicing these habits this month and watch your digestion improve, your energy rise, and your body thank you in ways you didn’t expect.
