Gippsland swimmer Amy Hodson is making waves once again with her incredible fundraising efforts for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
The 13-year-old, great-granddaughter of local identity John Yeates, is set to take on her fourth Starlight Super Swim Challenge next February, aiming to swim a remarkable 67km over the month. Amy chose the 67km target to tie in with the popular “6-7” craze, turning her challenge into a fun way to raise vital funds for sick children across Australia.
Amy’s connection to the Starlight Foundation is personal. She has spent significant time at the Royal Children’s Hospital, where the Starlight Express Room has provided laughter, games and creativity — a welcome escape for young patients from their treatments.
Now, Amy hopes to give back, helping Starlight continue its work bringing smiles to children and families through hospital programs, wish-granting,
and more.
“Every donation helps,” Amy’s mother, Robyn, said. “Whether it’s $6.70, $67, or $670, supporters can make a real difference and help Amy reach her goal.”
Members of the community can support Amy’s swim by scanning visiting the Starlight website to donate. Every contribution will go directly towards helping Starlight brighten the lives of sick kids nationwide.
Amy’s determination and generosity continue to inspire her community, proving that even young swimmers can make a big splash for a worthy cause.
