The Big Bonang event, held on November 14 at the Bonang Hall proved to be a huge success, bringing together local organisations, health services, volunteers and community members for an evening of connection, support and celebration.
Throughout the event, there was a steady stream of residents accessing the on-site doctor and nurse, ensuring that vital health support remained easily available to the remote Errinundra to Snowy district community.
A wide range of community organisations also attended, offering information, services and friendly faces, including the CFA, East Gippsland Shire Council, Tama Green and the Equine Therapy ponies, St Vincent de Paul, The Mental Health and Wellbeing Local, Orbost Regional Health, Errinundra to Snowy Wellbeing Spaces Nurse, local artists’ corner, Tubbut Neighbourhood House, Physiotherapy services, Forest Fire Management DEECA, La Trobe Regional Health and Women’s Health Nurse.
Together, these groups created a vibrant hub of support and resources for residents, reinforcing how collaboration strengthens community resilience.
As evening approached, attendees enjoyed a delicious community dinner, giving locals the chance to relax, catch up and share stories.
The night ended on a high note with lively entertainment from local band the Snowy Jammers, whose music brought energy and warmth to the gathering.
The 2025 Big Bonang once again showcased the strength, spirit and unity of the region — a reminder that even in a remote part of East Gippsland, community connection thrives.
