Orbost resident and dancer, Rosalind Crisp, was awarded the Creative Australia Award for Dance 2025, on November 18 at a ceremony in Brisbane.
Rosalind is currently working on a new work for the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company in Germany, so the award was accepted on her behalf by her husband, Andrew Morrish and Sydney dancer and long-time colleague, Lizzie Thompson.
The award was granted to recognise her sustained contribution to contemporary dance in Australia
and Europe.
Born in Swifts Creek, and now living in Orbost, Rosalind continues to dance and to find ways of sharing her work with her local, national and international communities.
She will be performing again in Orbost at the Orbost Studio for Dance Research on Wednesday December
17, sharing the space with visiting Slovenian artist Gregor Kamnikar.
