Orbost’s under 13 side put up their best performance of the season last Friday night, successful over Meerlieu at Orbost Community College by 17 runs.
Batting first Orbost amassed its highest tally for the year, an imposing 6/111 from its 20 over allocation.
Some tight bowling and impressive fielding saw the Tussocks kept to 6/94, in an effort performance which impressed the coaches of both teams.
The youngest Blues will play Metung Swan Reach this Friday night at the Swan Reach Recreation Reserve.
In the under 16s Bruthen/Orbost won the toss and batted first at AJ Freeman Reserve in Paynesville against the Gulls.
Opener Lucas Shanahan top scored for the combine, with William Burton making 12 in the middle order, while Peter Davies impressed with a solid eight not out.
Bruthen/Orbost finished on 8/69 after their 25 allocated overs, Paynesville quickly reaching 1/87 from just 11 overs, with Alexander Jenkins taking 1/34.
The Bruthen/Orbost under 16 side, who are still chasing their first win for the campaign, will host Lucknow this Saturday morning at the Orbost Recreation Reserve.
