The Orbost Community College (OCC) community is extremely proud of all its 2025 school leavers.
Senior school leader, Rob Clay, said it was a major achievement to complete 13 years of primary and secondary education.
“The students who sat the VCE exams have performed extremely well, and they should be very proud of their achievements,” Mr Clay said.
The student ATARs that came out last week are an important part of the university entry process, but there are multiple options and pathways.
Most students will receive an offer of placement on Tuesday, December 23.
Any students who didn’t perform as well as they hoped are encouraged to contact the college and speak with the careers team regarding their many options.
The OCC Dux this year was Giaan Woerz.
Giaan completed a range of unit three and four subjects this year to gain the highest ATAR score. Over the years, Giaan has also been a vital member of the school band and productions.
“So committed to these groups, Giaan was away on band tour to Phillip Island where she has played a key role as band leader, when the scores were released,” Mr Clay said.
“Many of our school leavers completed a non-scored VCE or VCE-Vocational Major qualification, including several school-based apprenticeships.
“Some of these students have as little as one year to complete on their apprenticeship before they are fully qualified tradespeople, an amazing achievement.
“The fact that our students have such varied pathways and that almost all of them have already begun either full-time or part-time work is testament to their success and preparedness to take the next steps in their journey beyond secondary school.
“The focus at OCC over the last few years has been on helping all students develop into independent and likeable young adults, equipped with the skills and abilities to explore their own career pathways.
“We are confident that our 2025 school leavers are well equipped for the exciting journey in front of them.”
