Orbost Arts Centre is inviting residents to a live music afternoon on Sunday, December 21, with doors opening at 2.30pm.
Get ready for an afternoon of great music, festive vibes and local talent as the next Sunday Music Session rolls into Christmas.
Enjoy the atmosphere and settle in for a diverse and exciting lineup of live performances.
The first act is Mark McCord, who has recently returned from an epic USA and Mexico tour of 47 gigs.
Mark brings his unmistakable sound home to East Gippsland.
A long-time local and internationally respected musician, Mark has spent more than 40 years performing blues, rock, and funk in bands, duos and as a solo artist.
Known for his one-of-a-kind double-neck guitar (two guitars zip-tied together), Mark simultaneously plays bass and guitar, reworking well-known songs with his own rhythm.
The second act is Slim Gritty and the Prodigal Sons, who will channel an eclectic mix of roots oriented styles such as rockabilly, hillbilly, traditional country and blues.
Slim is no stranger to festival stages and venues throughout Australia, has now teamed up with local mates Marc Conte – Drums and Doug Kerr – Bass, who together form the Prodigal Sons.
Slim has released two original albums Movin on Down the Line and Lil Bit Country that have gained considerable traction, tunes from which will make up a major part of the show.
