Throughout the year, the Maffra and District Car Club (MADCC) has proudly run four Junior Development Program days.
These days give young drivers aged 12–18 the chance to get behind the wheel in a safe, supportive and controlled environment.
The program focuses on teaching essential driving skills in both automatic and manual cars, helping participants build confidence from the ground up.
From the basics — like smooth steering, braking and understanding vehicle behaviour — to more advanced car control skills, the sessions give young drivers invaluable experience before they reach their L-plates.
Not only does this program help create safer future road users, but it also opens the door to the exciting world of motorsport.
Many of the juniors go on to enjoy Motorkhana and Hillclimb events, and this program is the perfect stepping stone for anyone curious about giving motorsport a go.
If you know a young person who loves cars, wants to improve their driving skills, or is keen to try motorsport in a fun and welcoming club environment, keep an eye out for the next MADCC Junior Development day in 2026.
