Stratford Cricket Club will host a past players’ day on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Stratford Recreation Reserve.
The event will coincide with the club’s A-grade match against Maffra, an important Sale Maffra Cricket Association (SMCA) clash between the competition’s current top two sides.
A highlight of the day will be the return and display of the club’s 1890–91 premiership cup, one of the earliest known records of formal competition, which has recently been handed back to the club.
Past players and members are invited to arrive from 4.30pm, with a happy hour scheduled from 5pm to 6pm. A dinner will be held following the conclusion of the one-day fixture.
The club welcomes past players, former committee members, current players representing other clubs with Stratford connections, along with families and supporters.
Brief formalities will include the story of the 1890–91 premiership cup, as well as reflections on Stratford’s SMCA premiership successes in “A” grade (2000–01), fourth grade (2000–01) and first grade (2015–16).
Stratford Cricket Club is also in the process of building a past players’ database, with attendees invited to leave their email details on the day.
