Locals trainers were to the fore last Friday evening at the Sale Greyhounds, with Johnsonville’s Joy Reinke and Lindenow’s John
Musselwhite among the winners’ list on a great evening of racing.
Reinke nearly won the first race with first starter Minter Boost ($2.20), who was run down late by the Marcus McMahon-trained Dr Othello ($12.10).
But Minter Jet ($1.90) got the kennel on the board in race four, leading all way for a seven-length win in 28.74 seconds.
Musselwhite won the last race with the Luke Traynor-owned Russel ($4.90) hanging on to beat Paw Amaran ($5). It was Russel’s second win from 19 starts.
Training honours for the meeting went to the Doctors Kennel from from Giffard West claiming three winners with Dr. Othello joined by Dr. Bobby ($3.30), who fought off Baywara in race six, and Dr. Exclaim ($21.10) in race seven.
The fastest times of the meeting for 435 metres went to It’s Mikado Time ($1.90) for Hoddles Creek trainer, Paul Jones, winning in a
slick 24.22.
The son of speedster, Koblenz, is putting together a good record having now won 13 of his 24 starts and $62,100 in stakes.
The happiest person on track was Boisdale owner, trainer and breeder, Steph Tyler, after He’s A Collinda ($2.30) won his maiden at the second attempt.
The chaser is royally bred by star short courser Unleash Collinda who had an outstanding record with 44 wins and 18 placings from 77 starts, down from Collinda Patty, a successful stayer who won 15 from 36 with nine placings.
Tyler was elated post race.
“This is a special win, when you own both the mum and dad, it’s a different feeling,” Tyler said.
