The Orbost Arts Centre is calling on local businesses and community partners to support the 2026 Australian Wood Design Exhibition, a premier event celebrating the best in Australian craftsmanship.

Scheduled to open on Saturday, March 28, 2026, and running daily until May 28, the exhibition is a signature annual showcase that attracts visitors from across the country.

It highlights exceptional handcrafted wood design, with many pieces available for purchase.

Organisers are currently seeking sponsorship for various award categories, with contributions directly supporting Australian makers and fostering innovation in wood design.

Key sponsorship categories include:

– Acquisitive Prize ($2000): Pieces chosen by judges to be added to the National Collection.

– Furniture Award ($500): For functional furniture.

– Reuse, Reduce, Recycled Award ($500): For works made from reclaimed woods.

– Turning Award ($500): Focusing on the woodturning process.

– East Gippy Timber & Talent Award ($500): For works created in East Gippsland using local timbers.

– Open Category ($500): For items that do not fit other specific categories.

– People’s Choice ($500): Voted on by visitors.

– Tourist Gift ($250): For small pieces priced under $200.

– Amateur Award ($250): For creators practicing for less than two years.

– Saplings (Under 18) Award ($250): For school students.

The exhibition will be open daily from 10am to 3pm, including over the Easter period.

Interested sponsors are encouraged to contact the Orbost Arts Centre to discuss how they can contribute to this significant regional event.
