The monthly Scroungers competition was held on Sunday at the Orbost
Bowls Club.
The competition saw a very good attendance considering the time of year and was played in almost perfect bowling weather.
The highest point
scorers on the day were Diane Ashton (63), Ralph Harding (61) and Dennis McCann (58).
The next social bowls will be on Sunday January 4, as Thursday will be New Year’s Day when the club will be opening to the public with a Barefoot Bowls Day with a sausage sizzle.
Members who normally attend the Thursday social bowls should still come along to either join in with the Barefoot bowlers or to bowl on a seperate rink with their usual bowling partners.
People can come along anytime after 10am and stay for as long as they wish.
The event is free but there will be a small charge for the sausage sizzle, with the
bar open.
