Gippsland Bowls Region weekend pennant will resume this Saturday after the Christmas/New Year hiatus.
Orbost Bowling Club’s division one side are scheduled for an away match against Howitt Park.
With five rounds remaining, Orbost currently sit in second spot on the ladder, having to finish in the top three to ensure a finals campaign.
Division four will play a home match against Bairnsdale 8, with victory ensuring finals participating, a loss would give them some work to do but their chances of playing finals looks probable.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
The men’s and ladies championship pairs will be held on Thursday, January 22 commencing with a roll up at 9.45am.

SOCIAL BOWLS
There was no social bowls last Thursday due to the heatwave, however, there was a very good attendance of bowlers on Sunday afternoon, even though several members were away.
The weather decided to be reasonable, if a little breezy and two games of 10 ends were the order of the day.
There were two teams who won both their games but, on a countback the winning team was declared as Maurice Frank (skip), Dennis McCann, Kerry Thomas and Steve Shorten.
The next social bowls afternoon will be on Thursday, please either have your names in by phone message, on the notice board or be at the club in person, no later than 12.30pm.
This gives the match committee time to organise the teams prior to the games starting.
