An era is drawing to a close in Sale, with Schuback Shoes set to shut its doors after 68 years of serving the local community.
Long-time owner and cobbler Brian Schuback will retire after 52 years working in the family shoe and repair business, marking the end of a remarkable chapter built on generations of craftsmanship and service.
What began as a small family trade grew into a trusted local institution, sustained by hard work, traditional skills and the loyalty of customers who returned year after year.
Mr Schuback said he was deeply grateful to everyone who had supported the business over the decades, acknowledging that the trust, conversations and friendships formed along the way meant more than words could express.
While his cobbler’s tools are now being laid to rest, the countless hours of dedication and care invested in the business have left a lasting legacy that will not soon be forgotten.
Before closing for good, the Schuback family is looking forward to one final “Back to School” season, giving the community a chance to farewell a business that has played a valued role in Sale for nearly seven decades.
