Boating and outdoor enthusiasts are being invited to mark their calendars, with the inaugural Gippsland Lakes Boat Show set to make its debut in Paynesville from Friday, February 27 to Sunday, March 1, 2026.
Set in the heart of the Gippsland Lakes, the new event will celebrate the boating lifestyle against a backdrop of sparkling rivers, sweeping lakes and wide-open waterways. Organisers say the location — one of Victoria’s premier boating destinations — will offer visitors the chance to experience the region at its best, both on and off the water.
Paynesville’s natural appeal, including its koala-populated Raymond Island, waterfront dining and easy access to iconic boating locations such as Metung, Lakes Entrance and Lake Tyers, makes it an ideal setting for a long-weekend escape. The event is expected to attract boaters, families and visitors from across Gippsland and beyond.
Adding to the draw, the Gippsland Lakes Boat Show will coincide with two popular local events — the Paynesville Classic Boat Rally and the Raymond Island Car and Bike Show — transforming the weekend into a festival-style celebration across the region.
Visitors can expect a diverse program featuring traditional boat parades, heritage vessels, on-water demonstrations and sea trials, alongside lifestyle exhibitors, family-friendly activities and live music. The Raymond Island car and bike show will add to the atmosphere, creating a vibrant showcase of both classic and contemporary outdoor culture.
Event organisers are currently working with key exhibitors, with more details on featured boats, vessels and experiences to be released over coming months.
With its combination of boating, heritage, lifestyle and entertainment, the inaugural Gippsland Lakes Boat Show is shaping up as a major new addition to the region’s events calendar — and a must-visit for anyone who enjoys life on the water.
