Mad Outdoors is operated by Rick, Maxi and Luka, and has been running for the past three-and-a- half years. The store stocks everything from camping and fishing through to 4x4 gear, hunting and off-grid power solutions.

What began from a well-known fishing store grew into one of the most trusted destinations for outdoor enthusiasts.

Mad Outdoors is owned and operated by Rick and Maxi, with Luka also part of the operations team.

Rick’s journey in the industry started long before Mad Outdoors existed.

He spent 18 years as the manager at Tackle World, building not only product knowledge but lasting relationships with customers who trusted his advice.

Working alongside him was Maxi, who many locals knew simply as “Anthony’s son.” Maxi’s father, Anthony, owned Tackle World, and it’s safe to say Maxi grew up in retail. From an early age, the shop floor was second nature, shaping his understanding of customer service and the importance of knowing your gear inside and out.

Luka was also part of the Tackle World team, working alongside Rick and Maxi.

Together, the trio developed a strong working dynamic, sharing knowledge, long days and plenty of laughs.

So, when Tackle World eventually closed its doors, it didn’t signal the end — it sparked a new beginning.

Mad Outdoors was created to serve the same loyal customer base, while expanding into a broader outdoor offering.

Today, the store covers everything from camping and fishing through to 4×4, hunting and off-grid power solutions.

Whether customers are heading off for a weekend fishing trip or preparing for a fully self-sufficient adventure, Mad Outdoors has them covered.

The store stocks a wide range of gear including hunting equipment, thermals, night vision and trusted apparel brands such as Spika and Huntech.

The focus is on practical, reliable products — gear the team would use themselves.

Mad Outdoors has now been operating for

three-and-a-half years, a milestone that even surprised the team. “Jeez, it’s been that long now,” the boys laughed, reflecting on how quickly time has flown since opening the doors.

What hasn’t changed is their commitment

to honest advice, local knowledge and

helping customers get the most out of their outdoor experiences.

Mad Outdoors isn’t just a shop — it’s a continuation of a story that began years ago, built on trust, teamwork and a shared love of the great outdoors.
