Pastor Michael Carlisle of Lakes Entrance has been appointed Police Chaplain for officers serving at Lakes Entrance and Orbost Police Stations.
The appointment, initiated by Senior Police Chaplain Annette in’t Hout, was celebrated at a commissioning service held at Lakes Entrance Baptist Church, where several speakers acknowledged Pastor Carlisle’s new role.
Eastern Region, Division Six Superintendent Mark Edwards highlighted the importance of chaplaincy.”Chaplaincy is core to supporting our people who are sometimes confronted with life’s worst situations,” he said.
Pastor Carlisle has served the Lakes Entrance community for 18 years, with involvement extending beyond his church to organisations including the CFA, Peer Support, Emergency Ministries, Bushfire Recovery, and Blokes on Bikes.
“To serve in this role is about supporting those who serve us and strive to make our community safe,” he said.
