Trivia for a cure at Bruthen Inn

by

in Local News

Locals are being invited to test their general knowledge and support a massive outback adventure for a vital cause at the Bruthen Inn Hotel this week.

A Trivia Night is set for Saturday, February 7, kicking off at 8pm, with all proceeds going towards the Cancer Council.

The event is the latest fundraising push for well-known locals Jeff Wagstaff and Lesley Czulowski, who are preparing to tackle the famous “Shitbox Rally” this June.

The duo will join 500 other adventurous souls driving from Mildura to Townsville.

However, there is a catch: they must complete the gruelling journey via the Flinders Ranges, Birdsville, and Karumba in a two-wheel drive car worth less than $1500.

Jeff and Lesley will be putting their faith in a budget Ford Mondeo to survive the desert crossing.

Part of the entry requirement for the rally is that every team must raise at least $5000 before the starting gun.

While the pair are well on their way, they are hoping the Trivia Night will provide the final boost needed to reach their goal.

Since its inception, the Shitbox Rally has raised close to $70 million for the Cancer Council, funding research and treatments for a disease that has touched almost everyone in the community.

Residents are encouraged to gather a team of up to eight people, dig deep into the recesses of their brains for useless facts, and support Jeff and Lesley’s dusty dash for a cure.

Tickets are available now via Trybooking.
