Residents across East Gippsland, including Orbost, are invited to give feedback on the 2026-27 Council budget, helping guide services and projects for the coming year.
Council is seeking input on what services are most important, which need improvement, and where it is performing well.
A new year-round online survey allows residents to submit feedback anytime, with responses received before 12 pm Monday, March 9 2026 included in this year’s budget planning.
Later responses will inform next year’s budget.
Mayor Cr Jodie Ashworth said the budget is shaped by the Council Plan 2025-29, long-term strategies, and ongoing discussions with the community.
“Your feedback helps councillors make informed choices while balancing community priorities, legislative obligations, asset renewal needs, and rising service costs,” Cr Ashworth said.
Councillors and staff are engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including chambers of commerce, ratepayer groups and local advisory committees.
Residents can also provide feedback at any council service centre or library, or by contacting council via phone or email.
While there is no scheduled session in Orbost, residents are encouraged to use the online survey at Your Say East Gippsland to have their say on local priorities, capital works and community initiatives.
