The Noorinbee Public Purposes Reserve is set to transform into a hub of community spirit and autumn celebration as the Cann Valley Autumn Harvest Show and Fair returns on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
Organised by the Noorinbee Public Purposes Reserve Committee Inc., the event promises a full day of family-friendly entertainment, local competition and seasonal festivities.
The gates will open at 11am, with celebrations continuing until 10pm.
The show portion of the event invites residents to display their hard work across a wide variety of categories.
Competition classes include home-grown produce, preserves, home baking and cooking, photography, art, homemade decorating, and hobbies and crafts.
Prospective entrants must deliver their items to Noorinbee Hall on either Thursday, March 26, or Friday, March 27, by 4pm.
Judging will take place on Friday evening and Saturday morning, with prize ribbons and certificates on display for the public to view by 11am on the day of the fair.
The fair kicks into high gear at midday with a schedule of traditional country games and activities:
12pm: The Pet Parade will take centre stage, featuring prizes for the best-dressed pet in costume and the most well-trained animal.
Organisers remind participants that all pets must be on a lead or in a cage, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their animals.
1pm onwards: The afternoon will feature high-energy events including egg and spoon races (eggs provided), three-legged races, and the classic gumboot throwing competition.
Those with a competitive appetite can enter the eating contests, featuring hot dogs and orange-peeling challenges. The day’s athletic feats will culminate in a team-based Tug of War.
To keep the crowds energised, a sausage and veggie sizzle will be available all day alongside traditional Devonshire and afternoon tea.
The atmosphere will be bolstered by live music throughout the event.
