Residents across the Buchan district will have increased access to council and library services in the coming weeks as East Gippsland Shire’s mobile outreach bus continues its regular visits to smaller communities.
The travelling service provides locals with the opportunity to borrow library books, make enquiries, lodge requests and access a range of council services without needing to travel long distances. Community members can also pay accounts electronically, register pets, collect newsletters and application forms, complete surveys, use a computer or speak directly with council staff about local projects and issues.
The outreach bus will visit Buchan Neighbourhood House every Tuesday from 10.30am to 11.30am. It will also stop at Buchan Primary School on, March 3 and March 17 from 12.45pm to 1.30pm, and in Buchan’s main street on March 10 and March 24 from 9am to 10am.
Further stops include the Gelantipy Bush Nurse Centre on March 3 and March 17 from 9am to 9.45am, and W Tree (SIBA) on March 10 and March 24 from 1.30pm to 2.30pm.
All community members are welcome to use the service, with council encouraging residents to take the opportunity to access information, complete tasks and provide feedback closer to home.
