When Triple Two Fencing and Carpentry relocated from the Yarra Valley to East Gippsland in mid-2025, owner and tradesman Heath Garbutt did something not many are willing to do: he started again from scratch.
No existing client list. No imported reputation. Just quality workmanship, old-school work ethic, and a belief that if you do the job properly, the community will notice.
And they did.
From day one, Heath focused on what he does best: high-quality fencing and carpentry built to last.
Known for his precision, efficiency and attention to detail, Heath has quickly earned a reputation for work that’s clean, strong, and finished properly no shortcuts, no compromises.
Customers regularly comment on how fast and organised he is on site, how quickly quotes are completed once material costs are confirmed, and how smoothly jobs run from start to finish.
Triple Two’s growth has been entirely organic.
The business Facebook page started at zero followers, with no push to family or friends every follower, every enquiry, and every job has come from real locals and real word-of-mouth.
That speaks volumes in a regional community where trust matters.
Whether it’s timber fencing, colour bond fencing, customs gates, repairs, or small custom carpentry work, Heath brings the same standard to every job: turn up when he says he will, communicate clearly, work hard and leave behind something he’s proud to put his name on.
It’s not unusual for clients to stop for a chat, bring a tea, or even a sandwich and biscuits because they know they’ve got a good tradesman on their property who genuinely cares about the outcome.
Behind the scenes, Triple Two Fencing and Carpentry is a true family operation.
Cass runs the back end of the business, managing administration, bookings, and logistics of materials from Melbourne.
And client communication, making sure everything runs smoothly, professionally, and with respect for every customer’s time and property.
Cass is also preparing to launch her own mortgage broking business in East Gippsland, bringing with her more than 15 years of experience in the finance industry, further cementing the family’s long-term commitment to the local community.
Now based on their 18-acre property in Lakes Entrance, Heath and Cass are proud to call East Gippsland home and to be building both their business and their future here.
They chose to move here, as far from Melbourne as possible, for one reason above all else: to raise their son the way Heath was raised on acreage, working outdoors, enjoying everything nature has to offer, and growing up in a close-knit community built on kindness and respect.
Triple Two isn’t just here to do jobs; it’s here to build long-term relationships, strong structures and a reputation that stands just as solid as the work itself.
