The recent Hobie kayak series another indicator of the quality fish that are in the waters locally, with anglers finding plenty of alternative ways to attract them onto a hook.
Marlo – Flathead, whiting and bream are in the system, biting on fresh prawn and sandworm. Salmon and the odd mulloway are being landed off the beach.
Bemm River – Bream and perch are in the river, with flathead about chasing soft plastics.
Mallacoota – Give Sandy Point, Gypsy Point and Fisherman’s Pier a go. As for baits try soft plastics, minnows, fresh prawn and surface lures, which are all landing some nice catches. For off the beach fishing, try Tip Beach. Looking for gummies offshore, give between the Two Islands a try.
