The Glengarry Angling Club recently held a fishing competition at the Bemm River, with some nice fish landed over the weekend.
Despite a little bit of wind, the weather was pleasant for fishing and socialising.
Junior land based bream awards went to Darcy Sutton (sub junior boy, 31 centimetres) and Pippa Sutton (sub junior girl, 30cms).
Brenda Kelm caught the biggest salmon, a 39 centimetre specimen, land based.
In the boating section, Mick Lont landed the largest bream (43cms), Sue Duncan the biggest bream by a female (38.5cms), with the junior girl winner, Chloe Brady (36cm) and the boys section taken out by Remy Krznaric (33cms).
In the flathead category, the men’s winner was Bruno Byrne (78.5cms), eclipsed by ladies’ winner, Gayle Webster (79cms), with sub junior girls winner, Lexi Krznaric (42cms) delighted to be among the winners.
The biggest mullet was caught by sub junior angler, Arlo Palmer (33cms), while the Perch winners were Lont (33cms) in the men’s section and Bailee Patton (34cms) in the junior boys.
Dean Brooks was all smiles after landing a 58.5 centimetre tailor, with the ladies’ section winner, Webster (46cms).
Other edible fish caught included a trevally (35.5cm, Blake Hedges), and flounder by Layla Kosterman (26.5cms) and Remy Krznaric (31.5cms).
