Marlo racer, Olly Short recently debuted for Team BWR in the opening round of the Australian Superbike Championship at
Phillip Island.
Short went in off the back of a limited preparation having spent three months off the bike, recovering from a broken wrist. It was his first time wheeling a 600 around Phillip Island and with no testing beforehand and limited track time, he found the going tough.
Setup issues in practice left qualifying basically his first chance to get comfortable on the bike.
He qualified 14th, before finishing 11th in race one, not finishing race two and coming in 12th in the third and final race.
On paper the results are less than ideal, but Short knows he is capable of much more.
With proper seat time, expect him to come out swinging in Sydney for round two on March 27-28 at Sydney Motorsport Park.
