East Gippsland’s transport community is gearing up for a huge turnout this Saturday, 14 March, as the East Gippsland Convoy for Kids departs from Orbost on its way to the Great Lakes Airfield in Lakes Entrance.
Proudly presented by Gippsland Truck Centre, the annual event sees hundreds of polished trucks traverse the region to raise vital funds for children’s charities — including Angel Flight and Camp Quality — in a striking display of community support and camaraderie.
Drivers and owner–drivers will assemble in Orbost in the morning before joining fellow participants from Traralgon and other towns for the scenic journey across East Gippsland.
The convoy is expected to leave the Orbost Recreation Reserve around 9am and arrive at the Great Lakes Airfield around 10am, where a full Family Fun Day kicks off from 9am to 4pm with food vans, entertainment, helicopter rides, children’s activities, stalls and fundraising auctions. Proceeds from the day contribute to vital support services for children and families facing serious health challenges.
