Cooking up a Sunny Day

Cooking up a Sunny Day

This March, the Forge

Theatre will become a

month-long hub of creativity as the IMMERSIVE program takes over, inviting the

East Gippsland community

to make, share and

experiment in a range of

artistic activities.

Mayor Cr Jodie Ashworth said the program reflects the Council’s commitment to nurturing creativity across the region.

“I’m proud to see creativity thriving across East

Gippsland through

initiatives like IMMERSIVE,” Cr Ashworth said.

“Programs like this open the doors of spaces such as the Forge Theatre and invite our community to create, collaborate, and explore

new ideas together. East Gippsland is full of creative people and bold ideas, and this program makes it easier for people to connect and build a vibrant, inclusive artistic future for our shire.”

IMMERSIVE transforms the theatre into a shared creative space, where the focus is on process, connection and experimentation rather than finished products. Activities across the month include:

– Wattle House Showcase – Experimental and Spoken Word Busking Festival on Saturday, March 14.

– Serendipity Music Events – Live performances by local artists on Sunday, March 15.

– Wilderness Coast Artists INC – Collaborative painting Water Dragon, Monday to Friday, March 16–20.

– East Gippsland Brass –

An evening of entirely original brass music on Friday, March 20.

– Heroes of the Forge – Interactive Dungeons and Dragons adventure on Saturday, March 21.

– Wacky Wombat Entertainment – “Cooking up a Sunny Day,” a whimsical performance on Sunday, March 22.

– Perfume of Word – Poetry readings and performances on Friday, March 27.

IMMERSIVE is open to artists, musicians, performers, makers, and anyone curious about creativity, including those simply wanting a welcoming space to observe, participate or co-work alongside creative thinking.

The program also forms

part of the lead-up to East Gippsland’s first Creative Summit in the final week of March, aiming to build momentum, ideas and collaboration across the region.

With doors open throughout the month, Forge Theatre invites everyone to step

inside, discover new ideas,

and experience creativity

in action.
