The recent rain has freshened up local waterways, and the fish are still biting, pleasing plenty of anglers.
Marlo: Flathead, whiting, and bream are active in the system, taking fresh prawn and sandworm. Salmon and the occasional mulloway are also being landed
off the beach.
Bemm River: Bream and perch are present, while flathead are chasing soft plastics.
Mallacoota: Sandy Point, Gypsy Point, and Fisherman’s Pier are all producing catches. Soft plastics, minnows, fresh prawn, and surface lures are proving effective. For off-the-beach fishing, Tip Beach is worth a try, and for gummies offshore, check the area between the Two Islands.
