Orbost Snowy Rovers will host Bairnsdale in a practice match on Saturday at Orbost’s Lochiel Park from 11am.
Boom recruit for 2026, Byron Vickery, will make his return to Blues colours against his former club, reuniting with brother Kieran in a huge coup for the club that reached the 2025 East Gippsland Football Netball League (EGFNL) preliminary final.
The hit-out against the Redlegs will give the Blues’ new coaches, Clancy Bennett and Brett Morrison, the opportunity to assess where their list is currently positioned.
Football training has now moved to Tuesday and Thursday nights, with the thirds commencing at 5.15pm and the seniors and reserves from 5.55pm.
Netball training times for “A” and “B” grade run from 5.30–7pm on Thursday nights. Training for “C” and “D” grade is on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5.45–7pm.
The under 17s train on Tuesday from 4.30–6pm, while the under 13 and 15 sessions are held on Tuesday and Thursday nights between 4–5.30pm.
The Blues’ EGFNL season officially gets underway on Saturday, April 11, hosting 2024 and 2025 grand finalists, Lucknow, who will take on a fresh look under new coach Steve Henry.
